Winter leak line, December – March
Water coming in this winter? Here is what happens
Call or text (207) 555-0101. Claudette or Roland answers daily from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. After 9 p.m. it goes to voicemail, and we call back at 6 a.m.
- 01
Step 1: You call or text a photo
A photo of the ceiling stain and one of the eave helps. Tell us where the water is and how fast it comes.
- 02
Step 2: We ask four questions
Where is the water, how much, since when, and can you reach the room safely.
- 03
Step 3: You protect the room
Move furniture, set out a bucket and open the ceiling only if it is bulging. Stay off the roof and the ladder.
- 04
Step 4: We come when it is safe
In daylight, with tie-off. If the roof is iced and we can't anchor, we say so and wait.
- 05
Step 5: We write down the cause
Photos of the dam, the eave and, when we can, the attic, and a plan so it doesn't return.
Hours and cost
Who answers, and what nights cost
Daily, 6 a.m. – 9 p.m.
December through March. In the other months, the shop is open weekdays 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Saturday 8 a.m. to noon.
Who answers
Claudette or Roland. You talk to the people who would come, not a service.
What costs more
A visit before 7 a.m., after 4:30 p.m. or on a weekend costs more than a weekday visit. We tell you the amount before we leave the shop.
What we don't do
We don't work on an iced roof without a way to tie off, and we don't chip ice. A tarp goes on only where it is safe to put one.
